Westralian Battalion; Unit History of the Western Australian 44th Battalion in World War 1, from its formation at Claremont in Western Australia in 1916 and its war service on the Western Front. Also included is an appendix on the 44th Battalion in World War II. The Westralian Battalion is a hard covered, cloth-bound, 512-page, B5 volume with a dust-wrapper, containing 260 photographs and 10 maps, as well as hundreds of eye-witness reports from contemporary diaries, letters, reports and journals of 44th Battalion men. The majority of the photographs, journals and diaries are from private collections and have never before been published. The volume includes detailed daily descriptions of the Western Front and the horror of the battles, Nominal Rolls, a detailed Honour Roll, Awards, Citations and Recommendations, a Nominal Index and a Foreword by Dr G Gallop MLA, the ex-Premier of Western Australia.
