Red and White Diamond - The 24th Battalion was raised on 1 May 1915 and, amazingly, it embarked for the Middle East just one week later. By September it was fighting at Lone Pine, Gallipoli. After the evacuation and regrouping in Egypt, it moved to the Western front where it first entered the trenches in April 1916 (at Pozieres). The narrative is clear and Includes many references to individuals . Roll of Honour (with dates) Honours and Awards (including MID), and unit nominal roll complete this history.
