A Gremlin On My Shoulder: Cundy, Ron. DFC, DFM, MID
Description
From Book Cover Description:
This is a story of a little boy from a remote Australian country village, who's fervent wish was to fly. From a family with very modest income, he had little or no hope of achieving his ambition. But WW2 intervened.
Against all odds, Ron Cundy became a fighter pilot and completed many operational combat missions against some of Germany's highest scoring fighter aces. That he survived was in some miraculous considering the number of his fellow pilots who were killed.
He was thrice decorated, being awarded the distinguished Flying Cross, the Distinguished Flying Medal and was mentioned in Dispatches for gallantry against the enemy.
After the war he had a successful career in the service of the New South Wales Government. Working in various departments he was appointed Assistant Commissioner of Land Tax in 1971, followed by the appointment in 1974 as Electoral Commissioner for NSW. He held this position until his retirement in 1982.
