Latest books
to hit the shelves this week include:
- Crumps &
Camouflets
Australian Tunnelling Companies on the
Western Front. A great book for those after specific history on the Australian
Tunnellers in World War 1. Extensive, and a first on this
subject. Hardcover with Dustjacket, 480
pages, with photos.
- Curtin's
Cowboys
Australia's Secret Bush Commandos. This unit
was 500 man strong North Australia Observer Unit in World War 2. Hardcover with
dustjacket, 1987 1st edition, second impression,194 pages. A now hard to
find history.
- It Happened to Us
The
Unique Experiences of 20 Members of the 4th Anti-Tank Regiment. Members fought
in Singapore, and many ended up as POWs of the Japanese, and suffered that
terrible fate. Hardcover with Dustjacket, 352 pages, 1994 1st edition, Now
hard to find.
- While History
Passed
Australian Army Nurses, who became POWs of the
Japanese for 3/12 years. This copy is the 1954 1st edition, now rare, and
in great condition, with dustjacket. Great cover art, and recommended
reading.
- Beyond

Story of those Queensland University
students of ‘U’ Company, 15th Battalion. Contains some photos of the battalion
in Caloundra, Chermside, efore heading to serve in New Guinea to take part in
the Salamaua and Lae campaigns & Bougainville.
